Filters in the Darkroom
Filters.....Save my pics. Filters can either add contrast or add gray.
Image retrieved from the Internet.
Filters that add gray:
0 through 3
Typically used on highly sunny days or in sunny regions like Florida.
Filters that add contrast:
3 1/2 to 5
Typically used to add contrast, Ohio is sunny but not like Florida. You will almost always want to add contrast.
Filter Pros
Changes contrast
Filter Cons
Adds grain
To add filter contrast without adding grain, add a contrast filter to you lens as you shoot.
Lens contrast filter. These filters range higher in number than darkroom filters. Image retrieved from the Internet.
Original Photo
Although this pic is "muddy" and I needed to clean my negatives a bit more, I could see that it would be worth investing some time into this pic.
Photo with #5 Filter
It's Connor. Ended up being one of my favorite pics I've ever taken.
