Showcase Portfolio/Create Website

Picture
Learning Target:
  • I can create an online portfolio to showcase my best work.
Yeager's Sample Showcase Portfolio
Assignment Overview
  • The showcase portfolio is a place for you to display your BEST work.
  • Let's say you took a well composed Rule of Thirds picture with film.  It's a great picture, but maybe it has too little contrast, or maybe it's too dark.  Maybe it just does not reflect your best work because you were new to using film or you did not completely understand the Rule of Thirds.
  • With the Showcase portfolio, you can reshoot the Rule of Thirds with a digital camera as many times as you want, until you were satisfied that you have a picture that reflects your best work. That is the picture you'd use in your showcase portfolio.
  • On the other hand, if you feel you "nailed" the Rule of Thirds assignment with the film picture you printed and turned in earlier, you are free to scan and use that picture for your Showcase Portfolio.
  • The key is that you put your BEST work on your portfolio.
For this assignment, you will need to complete the following tasks:
  1. Using Weebly.com, create an account with your PLSD student email account.
  2. Name your portfolio with your name.  I named mine "dyeagerportfolio".
  3. Create a website that has a Home page, a Compositions page and a Manipulations page.
  4. Populate or add items to your portfolio.  See below.
Home page
Your Home page must include the following information:
  • Your name or
  • Showcase Portfolio title with your name in it. For example, "Mr. Yeager's Showcase Portfolio"
  • Add your favorite picture to the Home page and label it with an appropriate title.
Compositions page
  • At least 3 of your best composition pictures.
  • Label each one.
Manipulations page
  • At least 3 of your best manipulations.
  • Label each one.
